Questions
Bali wedding questions, answered
Everything couples ask us before they book — from what a Bali wedding costs to whether it's legally recognised at home.
How much does a Bali destination wedding cost in 2026?
Bali destination wedding packages at Sekar Bali range from Rp 32.000.000 (~USD 2,090) for an intimate Ubud garden elopement to Rp 72.000.000+ for a grand Uluwatu cliffside celebration with 80 guests. Prices cover venue coordination, officiant, florals, sound, and one coordination day. Photography, catering, and accommodation are add-ons quoted separately.
What is the best venue for a destination wedding in Bali?
The best Bali wedding venue depends on your aesthetic and guest count. Uluwatu is best for dramatic cliff-top ocean views (10 to 80 guests). Seminyak is best for beachfront sunset ceremonies (10 to 120 guests). Ubud is best for intimate jungle garden weddings with a cultural feel (10 to 40 guests). Nusa Dua suits resort-style celebrations. Sidemen offers hidden rice terrace settings.
Is a Bali wedding legally recognised in Australia, the UK, or the USA?
Sekar Bali offers both symbolic and legally registered ceremonies. Legal validity in your home country depends on local law. Most couples register their marriage officially at home before or after the Bali ceremony. We advise all couples to consult their local registry office, and we can guide you through the Indonesian legal registration process if required.
What does a Bali wedding planner do, and why do I need one?
A Bali wedding planner coordinates your venue, permits, officiant, florals, sound, timing, and vendors on the ground, so you are not negotiating in a second language across time zones. We handle the logistics; you enjoy your wedding. For destination couples planning from abroad, a local licensed planner is the single biggest reducer of stress and hidden cost.
How do I know my wedding date is available?
Send us your preferred date via WhatsApp and we will confirm venue availability within the same day. Popular venues like Uluwatu host only 2 to 3 ceremonies per weekend, so we recommend booking 6 to 12 months in advance, especially for the April to October dry season.
Can you help with accommodation and flights?
We don't sell flights, but we advise on the best areas to stay for your venue and can arrange group accommodation, airport transfers, and guest logistics. Our honeymoon package includes a private villa, and we can extend villa stays for wedding couples and their families.
Do you work with international wedding agencies?
Yes. We have a dedicated partner channel for wedding agencies abroad, with detailed inclusions lists and brochure materials. Contact us via the form or WhatsApp and mention you are an agency partner.
What happens if it rains on our wedding day?
Bali's dry season (April to October) is the most reliable for outdoor ceremonies, which is why we recommend it. For every booking we confirm a covered backup option at or near your venue, and our coordinators monitor the forecast in the days before. A little tropical rain is considered a blessing here.
Is there a minimum guest count?
No. We plan elopements for just the two of you, intimate weddings of 10 to 40 guests, and celebrations up to 120 depending on the venue. Smaller, all-inclusive elopement tiers start from Rp 32.000.000.
Can we visit Bali for a site inspection before booking?
Absolutely. Many couples visit for a site inspection, and we are happy to arrange venue tours and a planning meeting in person or over Google Meet. There is no obligation to book after a tour.
What currencies do you accept?
We quote in Indonesian Rupiah (IDR) with approximate US Dollar equivalents for reference. Deposits and payments can be made by international bank transfer. Exchange-rate equivalents are indicative and confirmed at the time of invoicing.
